Wheel spacer pics/thoughts
I'm not usually one to just come out and ask for pics but I'm away from a computer all day today. The search function isn't the greatest on the iPhone app. Im thinking about installing wheel spacers on my rig. Im running stock 18" wheels now and I'm looking to make them stick out a little more/get the look of a positive offset aftermarket wheel. What do y'all think about spacers? Good/bad? I do go off road frequently. Mostly sand driving if that matters. Thanks in advanced.

I ran 2 Inch wheel ADAPTORS on my factory 20's. I also drive off road quite a bit. I also tow quite a bit. And I also have my truck at the local 1/4 mile quite a bit. I never ever had a problem.
Some people like to really argue with wheel spacers and adaptors. But I used them for 20,000 miles and never had a problem. I recently went up to a 36x13 r 20 on my leveled F-150 and the 2 inch wheel adptors wouldnt rit because the tires rubbed to bad.
I did go with 1/4 inch wheel spacers to clear the upper control arm. I have my 2 inch wheel adaptors sitting in the back seat of my truck if your interested in them. Here's a couple pics.
This is with my truck leveled with the 2 inch wheel adaptors and 33x12.50 r20's
Heres the adaptors
Heres the new tires

I had 275/65 r20s before. and they didnt rub with 2 inch wheel spacers. Maybe 1.5 or possibly 2 inch. Ill save you some money if u buy mine But they might rub Im not sure. messure how much spacer u have between the plastic and the tire are full lock.

I hate to double post but I'm bumping this thread. I'm seriously looking into the adapters but don't know too much about them. I'm stuck on the app once again all day so the search function isn't going to happen.

Adapters and spacers can be the same thing to some. An adapter is basically a spacer that changes your bolt pattern(6 bolt to 5 bolt for example) a spacer only gives you added space between your rim and mounting surface while retaining your stock bolt pattern. Most online sites call anything over 1" an adapter because they come with new studs on the spacer. There's a lot of hit or miss with spacers/adapters because a lot of people have either had their wheels fall off or have horrible shaking when using one of these things. It could be due to a ton of different things but if you do get some spacers try and get some hub centric ones and buy from a reputable dealer. I went back and forth for over 2 years because i wanted my rims to stick out more but in the end i decided it wasnt worth the risk since i towed quite a bit.

Shaking is due to the spacer not being %100 hubcentric. Happens a lot with the cheaper spacers. If you get something high quality it should not be an issue. I've ran spacers on my old car with absolutely no issues.

I'm looking at adapters too... decided against spacers for the meer fact that adapters come with studs.
Someone pointed me to www.adaptitusa.com and www.wheeladapter.com they look pretty legit.
