Default Calling Full-Race Intercooler Owners! Installed mine last night!

I installed my intercooler last night. It, unlike the instructions, took nowhere near 30 minutes. I also only had one, um, "mishap" tightening a hot-side clamp. The IC itself is a super-sharp unit!

That being said, I have questions for current owners.

1: Mounting: Where does the bottom sit relative to the lower support? Mine "floats" about 3/4" above the support, so it hangs from the top. If yours "floats" above the bottom support, what did you do to mitigate the rattling of the guides against the bottom support holes? Rubber grommets? Tape?

(2013 Owners Below...)

2: EBov mounting: Where did you mount your stock EBov? It was recommended to leave it connected (I'm assuming the truck gets a bit grumpy without it plugged in) by Eric. I've zip-tied mine behind the bumper.

3: TiAL Blow off valve clearance: I had some challenges so I dropped my front air dam to pull the stock CAC. The blow off valve on the 2013 pipes mount right at the bottom of the cold side path. I've found my front air dam will not clear the BOV.

Speaking of that beautiful blow off valve... being so low how do you think it's going to hold up when I drive it through a creek?

I know there's a price to being on the bleeding edge of technology, but I wonder if I've traded one issue (low-mounted intercooler damage) for another (low mounted BOV).

Anyway, there are my questions. A few pictures below to show the beauty! (and my ratchet incident).

Did you pull the rubber boots from the factory inter cooler to put into the bottom of the FR IC?

So it took longer than 30 mins?

Any answers would help others out also!

Hah! Significantly longer. Like, started at 4pm and finished around 9.

Figured out the rattle - you have to pull the vibration dampeners from the old IC topside and swap them over. This also brings up the IC to where it should be and eliminates the "hang" from the top bracket.

Below is what I mean about the BOV location... we may modify it and move it up...

Also a shot of the inside of my IC. Gotta love the oil!

That's after 39,000KM (24K miles). I only got this truck in April.

The lower hot side coupler was coated in oil. I had a puddle on the floor when I dropped the IC!

Truck goes for an oil change tomorrow so let's see what the service manager says about that picture!

Are these intercoolers installed in the hopes of avoiding the dreaded CAC issue or are you gaining any hp/torque? Just curious what the primary motivation is for installing one and if those that have installed them notice much difference. Thanks.

I ordered an aftermarket CAC because I was seeing 160 degree intake temps.
I'm hoping a more efficient setup will drop those temps to a reasonable level.
