What's the best SIRIUS deal you've been offered recently?

Let my wife's expire and got a letter for $24.99 for 6 months, went ahead and renewed.
Best deal on my truck NAV with travel link was $88 for 1 year. After the first free 6 months, i did get 6 more months for $36 (with travel link).
I did use a credit card but I used my Citibank that has Virtual Credit card numbers that you can generate on the fly with a set limit and expiration. So on both vehicles, Created two VC just for the amount then closed both VC after they charged it. Even if they tried, can't get me on any auto billing. Will renegotiate again when the time comes and just use another VC.

I called to cancel a home account I was paying for my dad. The price dropped from $15/mo to $25 for 6 mo. This was in late October.
I bumped the wrong button on the stereo while driving to work this morning. Lo and behold: the Sirius is active again. Must be a free trial. Still not worth it.

I had an account that I didn't renew when they sent a bill. A few months later I get a letter from collections. They "auto renewed" my account and wanted money. Turns out that is not enforceable in NYS where both sirius is headquartered and I live unless they either notify you in person or via certified mail. I like a few stations and would pay for it but **** them after that stunt. I used to love satellite radio and tell everyone. I still tell everyone but my opinion is not positive.

Easy way to get a discount:
When your yearly subscription is close to expiring, phone them and tell them you think you would like to cancel it.
They ask "Why? Is there a problem with the service?"
"No, I think it's great. However I don't use it too often and I need to save some money this year"
"Oh I see, so it's just a money issue?
"Yes that's correct"
"...well, what I can do if you're interested ..."
My friend and I have both done this before, ended up with a 50% discount. This simple polite method works for lots of things. Worked for our satellite TV subscription and I'm going to try it with Microsoft next time my xbox live membership is due.

I just went through same kinda crap with AOL Canada.....went to cancel, it was 29.99 a month, I don't use it and being on disablilty I can't afford it....he offered me 12.99 then finally down to 4.99 month.......and said cancel!! to 0....lol
I even put a stop payment at the bank 6 months ago and they still kept taking money out...the bank gave me the money back last time, but I see AOL took over 50.00 out of my account...don't use a cheque......use M/O only!!!
Im actually going to the bank today to repoer them, taking money out.....
as far Sirus
Im letting this expire and see what they come at me with, and do the same dance as before.....but if I do get it will only be with a Money Order....

I'm one of the idiots that paid with my visa 6 months ago. Last week I saw a charge in my account for around $112 from sirious... If it wasnt all I listened to I'd raise hell, but I would like to know if that was for a year or 6 months.

I don't want to derail a thread grandpa, but you still use AOL, and were paying for it?! I'm glad you didn't end up paying for it in the end because that must be some special Canadian deal; here in the states, my AOL mail that is 12 years old is FREE!! Maybe I've been grandfathered in, but still.... Who pays for e-mail service anymore? :-)
