Default What is this? I found it in my glovebox of my 2012 F150

Hey guys

I just bought my first F150 last week and found this in my glove box this weekend as I was putting my stuff in the truck. Can anyone tell me what it's for and do I need to take it back to the dealer to get it installed?

it's the wire warness to hook up your tailer brake controller. if you don't want one you don't need it installed.

Ah, figured as much. Don't need one...yet! So I'll hang on to it. Thanks.

The fuse and the relay are for the constant charge circuit in your 7-pin trailer power connector. Even if you don't use the trailer brake controller, you might want to install these if you will be pulling a trailer with break-away brakes that need to keep the battery charged, or with internal lights that you want to operate.

I just bought a 2012 f150 and trailer brake/turn lights do not work. there is no accessory package in the truck. I have ordered one from ford dealer but don't know how/where to install it. is there directions for this someplace? I should add this is a xlt with tow package and ford brake controller already in truck

Mine has the same. Where do these install at? And why the heck is this not installed at the factory?

Fuse a relay go into the 9 and 21 positions in the front, under hood fusebox if memory serves.

They go in the Engine Bay Fuse Block! they're only Needed if you use your 7-Pin trailer connector, otherwise they aren't needed. Thats why they're not installed at the Factory!

I only installed mine because I tapped into the 7-Pin wire harness to run my led Bedlights!
