You made a great choice! Not that the others couldn't have done the job but the Eco is amazing. Its a nice smooth, quite ride and even on the steepest grades with 7500lbs in tow my truck still never sees anything above 2700rpm's with the cruise set between 60-65mph. The other engines need to be in the 4000+ rpm range to make there power. On a long drive like your talking about the Eco will give you a nice quite smooth enjoyable ride.. Please get back to us after your first tow. I want to here how pleasantly surprised you were!!! Here is what i tow

3.55 XLT 4x4, Super cab with 6.5 ft bed, trailer tow pkg, Not the Max Tow, They did throw in the big mirrors and the in dash Ford brake controller. I can add leaf springs in the rear if needed. I do have the big steel bar 12K equalizer hitch system which makes any towing safe and effortless. I am also against a time schedule. I have a short 6 hr run next week. This was the last 2012 on the lot. They did a dealer search and was not finding another unit that was near these specs. I was not sure that I wanted to go to the 3.73 ratio. I think they told me the Max Tow came with the 3.73. Some other options would have been nice like the rear camera for hooking up. I have never had a camera to use for trailer hookup. I won't know what I am missing. Maybe someone has added an aftermarket camera system I could try?

Sweet GT40!
On the part about the camera, quite a few people have installed a monitor and camera for under $50. Here's a good thread on it:
