I had 4 seasons in the Pirelli's and just starting the 2nd season on the Blizzacks so I cannot comment on the wear

You found the Prellis and the Blzzaks to perform the same in the winter???

Nokain Hakkapelitta LT in an LT276/65/R18. I didn't have them studded when I ordered them, and I have about 20,000 miles on them. The wear indicators show I'm down about 20% evenly across all 4 tires. It looks like the new LT2 comes from the factory with studs, so in 2 or 3 years, when these ones wear out, I might try em with studs.

On various vehicles I've had Blizzaks, 2 generations of X-Ice, and now the Nokians. The Nokians are across the board superior in everything but dry road ride comfort. That's where the X-ice is great. It's a snow tire that feels like an all season until the weather gets nasty. The Blizzaks are very good as well, especially in deep snow, but I'd say a bit lower performance in general than the Nokians or Michelins. However, they are usually quite a bit less expensive than the other two.

Thank you for correcting me. I am not a tire expert but I have been running dual setups on my cars and trucks since 2000 and have experienced my fair share of winter tires . I have driven on Pirelli, Blizzaks, and Michelin over multiple iterations and I have an opinion. Sorry for voicing mine. I can only assume the AT's and AS tires are just as good in the snow. OP please ignore my input on my experience on these this different tires. I apologize for having an opinion. .

your input is appreciated just surprising. Curious, where are you driving these? How much snow? For instance I notice a large difference in snow with my duratracs versus the pirellis. Completely different tread pattern. My pirellis just spun when starting on ice or snow. Duratracs have been great. Here's a pic to show the difference in tread for anyone unfamiliar with either of these tires.

I ran iPikes on a 2003 a few winters ago.....were great in the snow and vqlue for the money but if you have to panic stop on dry pavement at highway speed you're going to kill the tire.....I tore the tread on one of the back tires creating a lopping action and had to replace the tire. May have happened with any tire, I don't know but that's been my experience with iPikes.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion. I honestly thought you were being sarcastic.

The Pirellis are just about the absolute worse thing, I have ever experienced in the winter. Many people feel the same. The Blizzaks, are the exact opposite. That's what they're for.
