Firetruck Horn Install
I figured I'd show off how I installed my firetruck horn on my f150.
I bought:
Genuine firetruck horn off ebay, 24" long I think
ViAir 1.5Gallon compressor and air tank combo
12v solenoid
1 ON or OFF Switch (shuts off entire system in toolbox)
1 Horn Switch (Inside Cab)
All the necessary wires / hose
I mounteded the horn inside the frame, and tilted forward a little to allow rain to run out the front. It has made it through two Ohio winters and still is kicking.
It is LOUD AS HELL
and sounds exactly like a firetruck.
Here are the pics

They are very cool, I love a good Q and some Grover air horn but I certainly would be very careful with its use unless your are in the fire service. The punishment can be much more severe than train horns, at least here in TX.

I had a Grover horn, Viair compressor and tank mounted on my F250 for about 8 years and then transferred it over to my F150 when I got it last year.
Fun to use on pedestrians but be careful when you use it on the freeway. I've almost caused a few accidents because of how drivers react, drastic wheel jerk to the left or right.
I have a switch to toggle between the air horn and the OEM horn.

Mehhh "Illegal"? Not in most states. Now how you use it...that is another story. Guy in my last billet had a train horn version of this. Used it and didn't see that PG County cop couple of cars back...tickets...lol...
