Default Help my mechanic can’t figure it out. Bad vibration and hesitation

So I bought the truck a couple weeks ago and it has started vibrating kinda like when your on the rumble strips and it does it while accelerating and only when you are from a coast. Not from a stop. 2010 f150 stx with the 4.6 v8. I can feel the binding and hesitation. The shaking goes away when I let go of the throttle. When I got home I saw that the driveshaft looked new but not the u joints. Another thing to mention is that the truck clunks/ jerks from a stop. I put it in tow/ haul and it didn’t seem to do it then but I didn’t test it that long because I was almost home. It seems to do it around 35 miles an hour and 45 during low rpm. What is causing this? Edit took my truck to the mechanic and he says he simply doesn’t know.

What engine? If it’s the 3.5L, when were the spark plugs changed last? Plugs are known to go bad quicker than other engines in our trucks. I would change these out first as it’s a super easy job and cheap. Buy 6 from your dealer and see if your hesitation improves or not.

Years ago, I bought a used 3.5L and had the same symptoms as you. The truck drove fine during higher rpm’s so I had to keep it in manual mode. I thought the hesitation and bucking was due to bad spark plugs but it ended up being the torque converter. A small fluid on Amazon which you pour into the transmission called Shudder Fix cured my problem.

It has the 4.6 v8 and this morning while it was cold I couldn’t recreate the problem.
