Weathertech mudflaps question
Well, I've searched a bunch and can't find the answer, so I thought I'd make a thread and see if anyone can help me out:
I have a 2011 Lariat S-crew with the chrome package, so it has the factory running board. I am hoping to order a set of Weathertech no-drill digitalfit mudflaps. When I use the Weathertech site, it asks if I have the fender flares - the Lariat has some smaller flares around the wheels, so I assume I answer yes to that, correct? Then, my main question is that it asks you if you have the "factory plastic running boards" and if you say yes, then the site only offers you rear mudflaps. Does anyone know if I answer no and order a full set, will I be able to install the front ones ok?
For reference, my running board looks just like the one in post #36 of this thread:

I have ordered a FX4 and called weathertech with that same question. They said they are working on a front set that will fit with the factory running boards. They gave me a time period of approx. two or three weeks.
I just bought my no drill mudflaps from ford parts. The weathertech's are $5 more than the OEM part.
I thought I was going to have an issue with the running boards. However the front flaps come within about a 1/4 inch of the running board and are easy to install.

Really? I have a 2010 XLT with the 6" Angled running boards (the ones in that post) and the front Weathertechs fit fine. If your flares are like the ones in post #1 here then you have flares

As I've told my wife, I know everything, including everything about installing Weathertech front mudflaps on a 2011 Screw with the chrome package running boards.
You DO have factory flares on a lariat screw
You do NOT have factory plastic running boards
BTW, I got the Weathertech flaps for $45.21 (per pair) shipped as part of a larger order from www.truckaddons.com
The front part number is 110003
The rear part number is 120003
When your flaps, arrive, first take them out of the box (just kidding). You will then hold the front driver's side flap up to the installed position and scream "F*CK" because the front edge of the chrome running board, which is a black plastic cap, encroaches on the rear of the flap so the flap would have to be bent forward to install it.
You will then call Weathertech and the guy who answers the phone will not know why they don't fit. Then you will decide that you don't want to ship them back, and you will decide to just re-drill the mounting holes on the factory running boards. When you are under the running boards looking up, you will say "F*CKING A" because the running boartds have a longitudinal channel that lets you loosen the mounting bolts and slide the boards forward and back.
Slide them back out of the way, install your flaps (which is easy) and then slide the boards forward and stop 'em where you like 'em. I moved mine just forward enough to leave clearance so I can wash the back of the flaps.
These running boards are going to be a PITA because they will always have dirt and water on top of all those angled plastic slats. If you move the boards forward, a lot of the debris will hit the underside of the board, keeping it cleaner.
If someone needs pics I will take some.
