Cutting on the inside/forward leading edge of that rib is what is needed. Much like burt.trans and Papa D posted when a factory sub is in place. If you trim out that section is should lay nice and flat.

Yes that needs to be trimmed if you have the console, on mine I had to trim by the console and the subwoofer, I have seen that cause the mat to sit too far forward and block the cup holder.

Last night I was finally able to move past the concept of having to cut a product that claims "a consistently perfect fit" and I was able to bring about an improvement, though far from perfect. From that standpoint, I'm disappointed in the product but I am impressed with the integrity of the material and expect it to provide great protection as many others here have indicated.

For anyone else who stumbles across this thread in the future with a similar problem, I found the best tools to use for the job were a combination of medical shears and a very sharp knife or boxcutter. Plain scissors seemed to hack up the margins a bit (could be that my scissors were dull) but a set of medical shears did a great job. For trimming I used my Kershaw Leek pocketknife, though I suspect any straight blade with a good edge will suffice. I placed the mat, marked a small amount of material to cut, and then took the mat to my workbench to actually remove the material. I repeated the process about 3-4 times until I got the best fit I could. I point that out because my initial instinct of cutting out that entire "boxed" section seen in my pictures would've been too much so use caution and trim a little at a time.

Anyway, now on to other mods: I have an appointment next week for a spray-in liner, undercoating in wheel wells and along rocker panels, WeatherTech vent shades, a Du-Ha underseat storage bin, and a ReadyLift 2-inch leveling kit. Hopefully the dealer will get my wheel well liners, mud guards and remote start system installed this week. Got my Rough Country hidden winch kit installed last weekend so about the only thing left to do is a Leer shell on the back. She's starting to take shape
