Default 2013 Tailgate Assist

Does Ford have an OEM tailgate assist kit for a 2013 F150 lariat?

No they sure don't. You'll have to go aftermarket. I put a DeeZee damper on my 2014 a couple years ago and it works like champ!

If we're voting....I put in a DeeZee, it got stiffer and stiffer over a year until the gate wouldn't even open without some actual force, and I gave up and removed it. Nobody at my house really liked the delay, anyway. We can just set the gate down ourselves.

I would concur on the stiffness (especially in MN where we live) however, mine is only stiff in the cold. Anywhere below 30 degrees and I have to "help" it down. Anything above 30-40 degrees and it comes down without issue.

Me too and I love the delay/no worry of the tail gate slamming down. It's confused a few people who were expecting it to fall.
