Water leak in cab
Well, has anyone else had this problem. I have a 2010 FX4 Crew Cab. We have just had 3" of rain in the past three day's. Got in my truck, back up out of the driveway and water started to drip out of the grab handle on the passenger side front, right by the windsheild. If anyone has had this problem and found out where it leaks from can you pass the information onto me as when I called my dealership they said they had never heard of it before but to bring it in.
Thanks

its probably just a bad seal around the corner of the windshield, my old Safari had the same issue on the top corners of the windshield. I only noticed is because of the wet spots in the floor when I got in.

Is the leaking through the antenna something that has been reported by FORD?

Thanks. It makes me laugh when you call the dealership and they say they have never heard of it. The dealership that I bought my truck from must sell hundreds of F150's each year and nobody has reported this happening!!

BUYER BEWARE - 09 F150 PLATINUM with multiple leaks after six times to the dealer
I've had an 09 Platinum since June of 2009 and kept it garaged. I've noticed moisture on the drivers side floor board over the winter, but thought it was the heavy snow and tracking it into the vehicle. I finally noticed mold on the floormat and the carpet was not drying out.
I've had the truck back to the dealer six times for water leaks since April of 2010. They've sent it to two separate leak specialists and I've been told the problem was fixed each time. I've had water pooling on the drivers side floor and soaked all the way back to the rear passenger door.
They "found and repaired the problem" and replaced the carpet because it was "nasty" and the truck was starting to smell musty and moldy. Also had an ant infestation under the carpet (they were apparently coming in through the firewall).
They've caulked the wiring harness coming through the front firewall and replaced all door seals on the drivers side door and said the problem was "solved".
I left the truck in my driveway to see if it was still getting wet. Last episode...picked it up Friday, it rained Sunday and the passengers rear seat was covered in water. Headliner was dripping and water running down the back window, rear firewall, and carpet was soaked. Underside of seat is visibly rusted.
I emptied the truck and parked it at the dealer service center that night with both sets of keys.
They say the rear brakelight was the problem...but will provide no guarantee that the truck will no longer leak. They've agreed to replace the carpet again, replace the headliner, etc.
I'm going to pursue legal action to have the truck replaced...love the truck, hate the mold and water. Ford says the truck is not eligible for their replacement program. I'm already having electrical problems with the headrest DVDs and will not continue to take the truck back to the dealer everytime it gets wet. The mold smell is obvious.
I have a hard time believing FORD thinks it is acceptable to have a brand new vehicle brought back six times in less than three months for the same problem. The service manager asked me to call Ford to get the problem elevated and to have a Field Service Engineer (FSE) came out to inspect the vehicle. The FORD rep on the phone told me to take it back to the service manager. An FSE did inspect the vehicle and agrees that the third break light is the problem and that the truck has had multiple leaks. The FSE will not provide a written guarantee that the vehicle will not leak or agree to replace the vehicle if it does leak again.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I took my 2010 Screw in for a water leak a few months ago. I had several drops of water on the rear passenger side floor mat (rear seat flipped up - seat wasn't wet). They replaced the third brake light seal or entire assembly. At the time I pointed out that the right rear door frame at the top along the inside above the window has a vertical seam that may be the (or another) source of water entry. Sure enough it is. It leaked at the seam after the brake light repair. That's not to say that the brake light also didn't leak. I took photos after a rain with the rear door open showing water droplets on the jamb of the cab and the seam in the door and droplets on the right rear arm rest. I noticed the droplets on the arm rest from the driver's side of the truck before opening the right rear door, so it is not a case of opening the door and they dropped down. I believe I have or at least had two different leaks: the right rear door seal to cab leak (still have), and either the third brake light or sirius antennae or some other unknown point of entry leak.
Also, prior to the dealer repair, I had a large cardboard box in the rear (also on passenger's side). I got in to go to work one morning and actually heard a water droplet fall on the box, leaving a large wet spot - large enough to wonder how much water was up in the headliner. This spot was inboard from the right side of the truck up to 12" in, and I suspect that it had to have come from either the third brake light or the siruis radio antennae. But looking at the inside of the truck it's hard to imagine water running upwards (at least it appears that it must) from the light housing and then forward across the headliner. My truck is parked only slightly uphill - just barely enough whereby placing the trans in neutral I can coast backwards down the driveway. It basically looks level considering it's a 2wd and the rear sits higher than the front (stock suspension). The Sirius antennea is probably the logical place to look for me considering it's the highest point on the truck where water could possibly get towards the center it.
Jim - I'm not going to complain so badly about my leaks after reading your story. The smartest way (not necessarily the easiest way) for Ford to find the leak(s) is to rip the interior out completely and take the hose/pressure washer to it. The problem I often run into is that some people may be good at replacing a gasket or light assembly, but are inept in identifying a problem, much less systematically solving the problem - and I don't have the time, nor should I have to, stay on top of them. This is not a jab at mechanics or service techs, but I see this as a basic design flaw that Ford engineers need to address and fix. Please keep us informed on how you make out.
