Here I am, caperj!

AricsFX,

Glad to see the second dealer looked into this for you. If you still need a hand getting this concern addressed, PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info, and I'll see how I can help!

Ashley
Interesting. I reached out to you twice in another thread about my sync and got no response. Two way street.

Thank you. I have an appointment for nxt week, I have ordered the switch and will be paying to have it installed. This is being done at a dealer 22 miles away, opposed to by my local dealer who sold me the truck. I will be remembering the cost of this denied claim and it will be considered when I make my nxt truck purchase.
Another thing that had me a bit frustrated: The service manager told me that he could not authorize the replacement of my switch, that was working at that moment, unless there was a TSB for this issue. He asked a second gentleman behind the counter if he had heard of any such TSB. They hadn't heard of one.....but then they never bothered to look for it either. I'm going to go search that up now. If I find a TSB for such a condition....Then I will be contacting you. Thank you.

Hi Buck,

I'm Crystal, the newest Ford Customer Service Representative. I recommend reaching out to my colleagues on the forum, FordIVTTeam. They handle all inquiries related to in-vehicle technology, including SYNC. Here's a link to their profile here on the forum: https://www.f150forum.com/members/fordivtteam-151573/

Send them a message; I'm sure they'll be happy to help.

Crystal

As a former master tech, I can confirm that independent shops have always had better techs. Why? Because independent shops pay better thereby attracting the most experienced techs to those jobs. My last tech job compensated me with 50% of the labor rate and 20% of the profit on parts.

However, warrantee claims have come under increasing scrutiny through dealers warranting things that should never have been warranted in the first place and foisting the customers' own negligence on Ford's dime. The practice evolved into requiring dealers to justify the warrantee work and a reduction in compensation for warrantee work.

Disclosure: among other things, I own Ford common and bonds.
