Default Questions about Ford remote access system

I'm thinking about getting that dealer supplied remote access system, and I have a few questions. First, what's a good price for this system(including the required key) over the counter? Second, they talk about an annual subscription cost- any idea how much that is? Is there any reason I couldn't install it myself? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Not sure what you would need a key for. All the ford remote starts are plug-and-play. If you can follow directions you should be able to install it. You will still have to take it to the dealer to have them enable it. The annual fee is $50 I believe

If you have factory command start then just contact zbourg@allstarautomotive.com and ask him. He will sell you the parts and activate it for you so no dealer visit required, again as long as you do have factory remote start. You will be doing the install yourself this way but as stated above it is plug and play, very simple. If you do not have factory remote start then a dealer visit is needed.

I am not the original poster but I just sent him an email and will see what he says. Does this setup take advantage of the climate control features of the factory remote start?

Yes, works the same as the remote start, same features, fobs will still work etc. It is well worth the money in my opinion.

After a month of remote start, I'm completely spoiled.

Annual fee is $50.
