Default Pioneer AVH3300BT

Hello Everyone!

Anyone have any experience or feedback in regards to the Pioneer AVH3300BT headunit? I was thinking of getting this unit installed and I wanted to reach out for everyone's thoughts.

Anyone install any double din head units, that support direct ipod functionality, BT, and Sirius XM?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, installed one last month. I installed a Kenwood with BT and Ipod w/ music and video.

Pretty easy process if you do some research. I have heard good things about the model your looking at.

THANKS!

Does your model have the Sat radio components already built in? I was going to have a car stereo place do the install for me, or even a best buy. I don't know if I have the right tools for the job.

Did you upgrade your door speakers too? What kind of sound improvements have you noticed?

a local audio shop here showed me that some of the aftermarket radios are capable of using the factory satellite radio module, and some require a different one

No, it is expandable though meaning I can buy a module and plug it in to get sat. I don't use sat so no big deal to me.

The install is easy if you have the right parts, the only "special tool" was a soldering iron. I just spent a couple weeks doing research on installing it and all the harnesses and dash kit came with very good instructions with pictures. I can have my HU out in 5 min's flat as that is how easy it is.

I did replace my speakers with some Infinity Kappas and with wiring adapters it was a breeze to install. I found a guy who did a video on how to remove the door panels and once you see it it is really simple.

It is a night and day difference and I didnt even run them off an amp, they are just run off the HU and sound really good.

I'm with rescue4man except Pioneer. Buying the replacement radio harnesses makes all the difference I feel. Thanks

Great Guys! Thanks for all the feedback. I found the video of the guy removing the doors. Looks pretty basic. Maybe I will give it a try once all the equipment I order comes in. I will have to post pictures of before and after.

Thanks again.

No problem, save your money on the install if you feel comfortable.

Hey Res4cue. I thought of another question for you. If I go forward with the installation with the Double din unit. Do you lose functionality with the mini display? Like clock? Compass? Outside temp?

Thanks.

No, it will still display temp and direction, it will say "built Ford tough" in place of where song title would be.
