Yeah! Its CRAZY huh? Its unbelievably quiet. Theres NO turbo lag and the power is instant, and theres no spooling or whirling to sense. Look at the dyno video I posted too, thats how it sounds outside the truck.

I pulled a 10,000lb trailer with the EcoBoost, and its torque curve is amazing. Truely something to experience for yourself. I suspect this as being the biggest thing since sliced bread! Honestly!

Also, did you notice how it "peeled out" the sec I hit the throttle, and then kept spinning the tires through 1st?? I wasnt power braking it or nothin! Its just that instant power.

(And we all know the 5.4 wont do that.......)

Where did you get a 10k lb trailer to tow? All of the trailers at the Texas Motor Speedway were 6700 lbs.
If you did tow 10k, what kind of mpg did the indicator show towing the 10k? What was the rpm and what gear did it run in?

Thanks

You should have had the passenger do the videos, that way we could have seen the tach and speedo, just a thought

I am fairly disappointing at the sound of those engines...

faster or more power, either way, it still sounds like my grandma's station wagon...

This is a matter of personal preference. I would imagine a nice aftermarket exhaust could address any desired sound improvement. And having driven an EB, I can say, they are pretty quiet - definitely not a V8 rumble.

small turbos will always be quiet until you open up the exhaust side. So a after market downpipe will sound insane.

You guys will not hear the turbos spool. They are electronically controlled by anti-surge valves, that relieve the boost in the intake. I have driven a Lincoln MKS with the Ecoboost a few times, and when you put that pedal to the floor, all you get is a deep throaty sound from the engine. I know the turbos are very small, and you will not get the lag, because they are both working at the same time, along with the direct injection. Everything is controlled to give continuous torque right from take off. I think its going to be an awesome motor. Not sure how its going to work for some, in the trucks, but for the cars, and mid size SUV's, I think its going to be a good thing.
