7-lug to 8-lug wheels.
I have a 2012 F150 with 7-lug wheels. The bolt pattern is 7X150.
I had hoped to install wheel adapters to gain a wider stance and go from 7X150 to the 8X170 bolt pattern on super duty’s.
I want to install 20” wheels and 305/55 tires as part of the upgrades.
There are many options. I’m trying to figure which is best.
FYI, my original plan was to have spacers custom-built for the 7-lug wheels, and then purchase custom drilled wheels for the 7X150 bolt pattern.

If you can get the wheels you like custom drilled, go that route. I'd think you could get the offset you want and skip the spacers.

The offset question has been on my mind as well.
-18 mm offsets and 0 offsets are popular with wider wheels.
In the ideal world I would make no changes to the stock suspension.

I would stick with the 7 lug pattern. Unless you have free, or close to free 8 lug wheels, you're creating extra expense, and more parts.
chose the correct size, including offset 7 lug wheel to fit the tire size you want.
also if you go with 8 lug, you have your spare to address.

The 7 lug pattern is one of the hardest bolt patterns to find wheels for. Most of them are ugly af. I would say you only option to have a good looking wheel is to have a custom wheel made or run adaptors.
