Default USB stick won't play

I've copied a bunch of my mp3 to a USB stick and put in in the USB sync port (following best practices on folder conventions), but the f150 doesn't seem to find any of the songs on there. What am I doing wrong? It is formatted FAT32.

I fought with the same issue

Figured out you have to create a playlist of the songs on the USB, and save that playlist on the USB stick too

You can use Windows Media Player, or probable even iTunes (haven't tried; I don't use iTunes), but what I've been using is free program called Mp3tag to edit both the info about the song so it displays right on the screen of the strero, and create an entire playlist

Save the created playlist to the USB with the songs, pop it in the USB port on the truck, sync media from USB, select random song option, rock on

Playlists are not required, at least not on my v2.1 with Nav.

When you plug the flash drive in the USB port, did you see Sync trying to index the drive?

Really - I'm not kidding.

I have no problems playing albums, tracks, artists, genre, etc.

The playlists I do have are typically for an artist (multiple albums with tracks removed).

on MP3Tag. I use it to create the playlists and edit the MP3 tag data.

Oh, and iTunes playlists will not work. Here's partial text from one of my playlists:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:251,Eagles - Witchy Woman
Eagles\Eagles\Eagles - Eagles - 02 - Witchy Woman.m4a
#EXTINF:335,Eagles - The Sad Cafe
Eagles\Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2\Eagles - Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 - 05 - The Sad Cafe.m4a
#EXTINF:294,Eagles - I Can't Tell You Why
Eagles\Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2\Eagles - Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 - 07 - I Can't Tell You Why.m4a
#EXTINF:211,Eagles - Take It Easy
Eagles\The Best Of Eagles\Eagles - The Best Of Eagles - 01 - Take It Easy.mp3
#EXTINF:257,Eagles - Peaceful, Easy Feeling
Eagles\The Best Of Eagles\Eagles - The Best Of Eagles - 02 - Peaceful, Easy Feeling.mp3
#EXTINF:213,Eagles - Desperado

Note the MP3s (and M4s - iTunes unprotected files) are stored as follows:

ARTIST\ALBUM\artist - Album - track No. - Track Title.mp3 (or M4a)

It does try to index the drive. Just can't find or play anything.

On a flash drive? Interesting.

Do you happen to know where they are stored on your compuer's HDD (folder)?

Then I suggest a master reset. It will erase any indexes and phone pairings, but short of a trip to the dealer, I'm not sure what else to try.

This is assuming, of course, that your MP3 tag data REALLY is complete.

Here's a picture of my tag data:
