Default 33s with 3.31 gears?

What's up guys? New member but I've searched through these forums many a times. I have a 2010 F150 lariat with 22 inch ford rims. I also have 3.31 differential gears and 104k miles on the 5.4. I'm currently running 275/45/22 or 31.7 inch alenzas, which are total junk. I bought the rancho quicklift before I realized how tall my gears were. I would have liked to go with 34s but I don't think it's a good idea with these gears.

So my question to you guys is ***do you think I could get away with running 305/45/22 hankook dynapros? They're 32.8 inches in diameter with my 3.31 gears?

I realize this would bring my true gears down to about 3.21 and result in a loss of power, but how much?

It's somewhat hard to do research because no one seems to have these gears with the 5.4. I barely tow and off-road very lightly (only at the job site). I have considered regearing but it seems like a bit of a waste if I'm only regearing for an inch of bigger tires.

So, long story short, can I bump my tires up from 32s to 33s and keep my 3.31 gears? Any advice is appreciated but it would be nice to hear from someone versed in transmissions/drivetrains or has 3.31s

Thanks,
Steve

Just an inch bigger tires shouldn't hurt too much

Agreed. If you aren't towing and needing to hot rod, it's fine. Most don't rehear when they go big with tires so your ending ratios are likely common. It will just shift a but more and later.

Jumping up another 1" in tire size isnt going to hurt anything other than being slow off the line and the speedometer will be slightly off. I ran 275/65/20 (34") on my old XLT with the 3.31 gear and it was just a little more sluggish off the line.
