Transmission Hesitation bewteen gears
I recently had my transmission pan dropped and filter changed and noticed when first driving when its cold it feels like it hesitates between gears a little more then I remembered. When it warms up it feels normal. could this mean that I the fluid level is too high or too low? it doesn't cluck or anything when it does shift and does smoothly change gears but it feels like it takes a split second before it takes off... I am going to check the level when I get home and hope not to burn myself while doing so because of dumb location of the dipstick on these..
any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.

I am just ordered the OEM filter and Fluid from amazon and the pump for the qt. bottles. If you check it cold you want have to worry about burning yourself. Did you use the Motor craft Mercon LV ? Mine all came in today so hopefully I can change it by next week as I have something else pressing at this time.

Looks like your up over the half way mark on the B. Let it cool off to cold and check it and see if it is at the top of the lower A hash area.

Here is a link you may have seen about changing it.

From your pic it looks like your a little low as long as the truck is hot and transmission temp should be above 193*F Im sure it was then it should be at the top of the B area.

And obviously the truck needs to be running... the fluid is right at the top of the dotted B...
Maybe I am being over critical but I'd rather ask. It's as smooth as glass when warm... just when getting to warming temp it confuses me a little...

You have done it the correct way with the mitts. I googled a article and they do recommend using some similar gloves and verify the transmission is hot like you did. I would add a little more to get it close as you can to the top of B area. I may get to do mine Friday day and I will check it cold on level ground and then hot too to see where it is at before I drop the pan. Then come back here and post what I find.

Do the recommend "flashing" the Trans afterwards? So you can relearn your shifting habits?
I did follow the video above and he does a great job of showing what to do but never really says when he fills it up by when it's somewhat cold not 195 operating temps. I look forward to seeING your results
