luv2hike27 - That looks real nice....
I have lathes, mill, and about everything for steel I've even fabricated a working handgun but very little for wood it's not my bag. I like the locking of the tuffy although I question how good the locks are anyhow, any good lock is $200+ alone, they will probably pick in seconds but it'll keep the quick opportunist out. I may try to cover it like yours to have it blend in more out of sight.

Installed DURING a snowstorm this A.M. before work, 10 minutes tops. Quality is very good and even the locks are double wafer which is much better then I expected. When drilling becomes easy then picking that's better then most.

luv2hike, do you have any tips for a DIY job? Specifically did you do any contour matching or fanciness like that? I'm sure I could rough in a box that would fit, but would appreciate any tips for a more "finished" product! Pulled the pictures out of the quote to make reading the thread easier.

sorry for the delayed reply I have not been on in a while, I had a coffee can pretty close to the size and shape of the curve then I took a piece of 1/2 inch foam insulation board and roughed it in, then pressed it into the carpet a bit and used a marking device to trace the actual curve, once i cut it out and reshaped it with sandpaper to get the final size, i then transferred that to 1/4 inch plywood to use as a template on both ends. The carpet color is not 100% the same, I would say it was 95% match or more, but with the tinted windows you can not tell its not factory floor carpet and most people who do not know how an F150 is made would probably think that the seat is sitting on a raised floor.

Here is my Du-Ha. Got it for $150 shipped but still expensive. I ordered it before I found the thread on building your own. Thought geez, I should have done that. I like it a lot but really it is too big for what I store under there. Come spring I am going to build one that is half the size so I can have more floor space when I raise the seats.
