would you call a race between a SCAB 6.2 raptor on 35 inch toyo's with 4.10 rear end against a ecoboost SCREW on raptor wheels and tires with a 3.55 even? My buddy and I are arguing lol...

No I would not, Raptors are heavy. I was talking about two of the same truck with both engines like the Platinum or FX4.

Im curious to see what ford does with the 6.2 and the 5.0 when the 2016 CAFE standards kick in… I don't see ford being able to keep them, or the raptor, when they have to meet a fleet average of 35.5mpg….. then they're gonna have to have time of that MPG
Hopefully that will just motivate ford to make an even more kick *** engine to go in the raptor instead of just eliminating them!

Don't forget, the new F150 is supposed to lose ~700lbs. Take 700lbs off a current Raptor SCAB and it will get 18mpg on the highway. Add some cam profile changes and tuning and I bet they can do better than that. The Eco will get a 2 or 3 mpg bump as well with the weight reduction. I don't think for will have an issue meeting the new standard. In short, they aren't getting rid of the 6.2.

ho hum; the least ford could've done was make the 5.0 and 6.2 run on 4 cylinders under light load. that would damn sure help. wtf dodge and chevy can do it. chevy is also doing it to the updated 4.3 v6 for the new model.

maybe their ohc and dohc layouts make this difficult.

about time and it would help another 2mpg to quit styling these things more and more like an absolute brick. the atlas is even worse in this regard. a sloping nose and more regard for cd would go a long way. but i doubt it will happen. owners would be bitching and whining about girly trucks or anteater nose and bring back our oversize over weight bricks, lol.
