Unhappy Turbo flutter on and off - Ecoboost 3.5L 2011

Hi guys,

I have a 2011 EB3.5 4x4. Bought it used.
I noticed that on very light acceleration with a little bit of load the turbo would flutter on and off (for instance uphill - no towing or hauling- at 1000/1500 rpm in 6th gear - 90km/h).
Turbo start and stop (hesitate) until you decide to slow down or frankly accelerate (basically go away from that hesitation range/point). This happen at various speeds but always during light accelerations.

Did this happen to anybody and what I am facing?

Thanks for your

Have you checked your spark plugs? They should be gapped at 0.030.

Have the wiring harness to the boost control module. I had the same thing on my 11. The harness was defective and wasn't providing a 5V signal to the module. The dealer replaced it and never had the problem again.

I have some good news on this issue and want to share to help any F150 owner that run into the same problem:

I dropped my truck to the dealer and we managed to duplicate the issue I describe in my first post. Ford found the following TSB 13-8-10 that seems to address my issue. This TSB require a reprogram of your PCM (I am not an expert but that's what I understood/find on the web + discussing with the dealer).

I drove the truck for 2 days since my dealer applied this TSB and everything looks good. Truck shift in a more appropriate way and turbos don't flutter anymore.
Thanks Ford and you guys on F150Forum.com

For those of you that are curious here is the TSB description
