Default 2014 Less than 250 miles... Waranty work Twice

Good Morning!
3 weeks ago I bought a brand new 2014 STX... Its been into the service department twice!

First time was the driver side speaker which sounded blown. - Fixed!

Second time and the scariest was the Fuel Pump Driver Module. I was on my way to work driving up a steep, long bridge and the engine dies. I coast to a stop in rush hour traffic. Long story short... the part was on back order and the dealership took a FPDM off of a new truck in the lot.

Back on the road now, and happy with the truck... as long as I don't see that service department anytime soon!

Anyone ever hear of these FPDM going bad like this?

mass produced parts are gonna have a few bad ones turn up, I wouldn't worry about it.

Apparently the Driver Speaker is a known issue, mine had the same thing, service dept didn't bother to confirm, they just ordered a speaker for they change them out on over 1/2 the F-150's they sell.

Yeah, my driver side speaker goes in and out. I am going to fix it myself, just haven't gotten to it. Seems rediculous that Ford can't make a truck that the speakers actually work in. My first new Ford truck and I was hoping for better seeing how mine is a '14 and the last year of a model.

I think if we look a little deeper we may find that our 2014's have as much in common with the '15's as they do the '13's. I've had a lot of issues with mine that I never did with my '13.

This speaker issue has been going on for years. Not really sure if the '15's are seeing it or not but I bet they will. Ford doesn't seem too interested in correcting known issues even with a new model.

Is there a tab on the speaker? I've asked my dealer before but they said they couldn't replicate.

The OP had more then a speaker issue. That's a minor issue that's annoying at worst. A stalling truck, not so much.

OK, but my post was only about the speaker issue. Not sure what your point is but whatever!
