2011 eco and accelerator prob
Yesterday while pulling into my driveway the accelerator went to wot on its own and stayed until I turned the ignition off. Unfortunately I didn't get it shut off until it hit my house...it actual came to a stop against my house and continued to burnout until I shut the ignition off. I tried to stop it with the brakes but with no success. Also surprisingly the airbags didn't go off. I have no idea at what speed it made impact but was fast enough that my neck is sore and my knee got skinned up where it smacked the steering column which is now separated where the 2 pieces come together. I guess I'm curious if anybody has heard of anything like this? I notified Ford and they had me call road side assistance and have it towed to my dealer. They are suppose to look at the black box and get back to me. I'm sure my ins co will be looking into as well.
Thanks for any insight in advance guys

Haven't heard about this yet, but I'm interested in hearing what happens. How long have you had your rig?

I got it in mid June of 2011 new. Has lil over 21k. Yea I don't think brakes even phased it. Give me a lil time and I'll post a cpl pics of damage and the burnout marks. Luckily my house is brick and the is an interior wall that helped stop it or I may have gone thru it!

Man, that is one solid house. Good thing you're still warranted. For your sake, I hope Ford figures out what the eff happened and you get everything fixed.

I'm not sure what that black box is going to show...whether it can differentiate between the pedal being physically pushed or whatever the hell happened. I honestly don't know if the pedal went to the floor or not. All I know is I had the brake to floor!

Interested in how long it would do this, I shifted into Low 2 and screamed through the neighborhood until I reached a corner. There I stopped and shut off the engine.
On restart all was well.
Likely a cold wet day thing, I thought.
It hasn't happened since.
