Trip gallon used question

there is a digital temp gauge under gauge mode... same place as you switch from trip meter to fuel economy..
there is an arrow beside the analog fuel gauge pointing to the side you fill the truck on at gas station
only arrow I see points to passenger side under trip a b... push the pass side pointing arrow on the steering wheel???

2- If downward pointing arrow denotes the side the gas cap is on, then it's on the wrong side... :-)

I'll have to watch when I fill up and see if it points up?
I found this pic online, I think the OP means this arrow, which i circled in red.

I apologize, I should have been a bit more specific in my first post.
Exactly, that's the arrow I'm speaking of. And yes, I have a manual and it mentions nothing of this said arrow. Unless I simply overlooked it. I'm an engineer so little things like that aggravate me when I don't know what it's for. I'm assuming, like others, that it means fuel is going down, but seriously???? Wouldn't common sense make that assumption? LoL
And yes I'm aware that I have an analog and digital gauge for transmission temp. However, my tuner can pick up boost, coolant temp, EGT's, air inlet temp, etc. It would be awesome if Ford put those digital readouts available to the driver at all times. I find them useful especially while towing. Gear selection vs boost pressure while ascending a grade, etc.

My best guess.....it is pointing down to the average MPG that is being used...
The gauge tells you the amount of fuel used and the arrow is pointing down to the MPG.

Same here, usually off by 1-2 gallons. Which means the MPG for your trip will be overstated by the trip computer. My hand calculated mpg is about .4-.5 lower than the trip computer.
