Find a tremor for low 30s... Theyll be givin them away soon cus dealers cant move em. Throw a tune, sticky tires and meth on it... (1500$) and you got yourself a mid 12 sec truck....

At least the GM has proven reliability.

Something Chrysler/Dodge/Ram has never figured out.... You don't beg the government for $$ to bail you out TWICE in under 30 years (first in the 80's and then in 08) by building awesome vehicles.

I kinda agree with you, but also I don't think hundreds of people drying from an ignition switch failure means GM has proven reliability.

GM's get a new recall every other week I would stay away from those. Also can't get a fully loaded GM Rcsb, unlike Ford and Ram.

Recalls on top of recalls and recalls to recall the recalls? We have a scrap yard full of GM's proven reiabilty at the farm. Everything there is now either Ford, Toyota or Ram with only one 1994 GM still in service with a cracked and rewelded frame.

So far, I hate to say it, the 2 Toyotas have proven more durable than the others with the severe duty (hauling tools, welder, fuel, etc.)

I don't know where you are located, but you should take a look at this. 5.0 Roush supercharged with some other nice addons based on a 2dr XLT. I saw and heard this truck. It was built by the previous dealer GM and they just want to get rid of it. It's in a Midwestern Kansas farm town, so not much interest. It's been dealer driven only (had 600 miles when I saw it). They are giving it away with what they have in it. Guarantee you they would take less than $30K to get rid of it.

Going off of memory, in addition to the supercharger, it had an aftermarket hood, billet grill, cat back (thinking it was Magnaflow, but not sure), hard shell topper (ARE I think), Nitto tires on 22" Centerline forged wheels and intake. I'm thinking I remember seeing headers on it, but that was a couple months ago. New GM had just started and wanted to sell it. He had just driven it to Wichita and back. Said it hooked with a Shelby to 96 mph (stock limiter). Being a dealer they said they couldn't legally alter the speed limiter. I believe they were quoting 560hp (flywheel I'm sure) and had nicknamed it Black Thunder. It looks like they had $38,995 on it at one point. I'd like to have it for a play toy, but I've already got 6 vehicles in the stable and I've got the GTO if I wanna go fast. I still think it's a steal for around $30k.

I wouldn't use recalls as a gauge of reliability....

The Wife's Escape has been recalled quite a few times and at 11 years and 145k it is running fine. Never left us stranded or required major repairs. This year was one of the biggest when it needed new brake lines.

My Taurus has been recalled a couple times too. No reliability complaints there either.

What I was getting at is that GM has proven power trains - engines and transmissions are generally solid just like Ford. Ram has the gimmicky Hemi (Hint: It's not a Hemi and it's not a Chrysler invention), a history of poor transmissions, and bits that just don't last.

And the best part is now that they split out Ram you can see its durability compared to the rest. Head over here:
http://autos.jdpower.com/ratings/201...ss-Release.htm
This is from 2011 vehicles, the new Ecoboost as well when Chrysler was "supposed to have gotten" quality (LOL).

Ford is just below industry average and Ram is well below that.

I'd rather buy a GM with a defective ignition switch (beaters taught me how to drive without the engine running or possibly stalling at any time) than buy a Ram. Chrysler should have been gone in the 1980s and definitely in 2008. Sell their only asset - Jeep and put a fork in it.
