Transmission dipstick?

From the owner's manual, page 395:
So, no there is not a dipstick. And I guess part of me is OK with that, there's no dipstick for the rear end or transfer case after all. And if it is true that "Your transmission does not consume fluid." then there should be no need to check it.
But it's an old habit of many years to do a periodic fluids check and I keep looking for the transmission dipstick.

it does have a "dipstick". it is on the pass. side of the trans. looks like a long lug nut sticking out of the trans. it is not run up to the top as before. should not need to check the fluid for a few years anyway.
by then it will be ready for changing and any reputable trans shop can change it for you.

) But to me a dipstick is something the owner can easily access from the engine compartment to check the fluid level with nothing else but a rag.If you have to crawl up under the truck with a wrench, then to me that's not a dipstick, and FoMoCo apparently agrees with that, since the owner's manual says there isn't one.

Consider yourselves lucky.
The wife's '03 Benz did not even have an oil dipstick!!
You turned on the key with the engine off, and scrolled until the dash LCD showed the oil level as OK or not.
I basically did not open the hood for months at a time, and then just to glance at the anti-freeze bottle. Mostly I looked at her parking space in the garage to check if there was oil dripping anywhere.
It was hard to argue with this, because I never added a drop of fluids between annual (6,000 mi) changes.
