Question 3.7L - Which Spark Plugs?

I have the 3.7L engine and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on which spark plugs to use.

I was thinking Motorcraft (CYFS12F5) spark plugs but then those are platinum. Thought iridium is harder and stronger.
(it is a little time-consuming to change these spark plugs on the 3.7L)

Thanks!

I always live by the code of using the Motorcraft plugs that Ford recommends for a given engine. Use the stock plugs and don't worry about it.

Thank you mmnewcomb. That's what I thought.
So, another reason why I opened this thread is because it's a SparkPlugs-jungle out there for the 3.7L. There is contradictory info out there on different sites, and the same happened when I bought u-joints (and had to return because they didn't fit).

Does anyone know what Motorcraft Spark Plugs are the correct ones for the 2013 XLT 3.7L?
  1. SP-520?
  2. SP-520-A?
  3. CYFS12F5?

Any feedback appreciated!

They're all exactly the same thing.

#3 is a Ford part number
#1 is a Motorcraft part number
IDK what #2 is, I haven't followed your engine. It may be an update, or just some store's version of the part number.

Amazon frequently has mistakes in their compatibility info. Is that screen from Amazon or some other seller? Also, if the part number changed recently (the 3.5EB and 5.0 numbers have changed twice), it may be Amazon has not updated.

Yes, that is amazon saying that it doesn't fit. But I also had other autoparts stores say that something was an exact fit and then it didn't.

You think the 3.7 is time consuming when you do the plugs, maybe you want to take a gander at the 6.2 with its 16 plugs. I can change the plugs in my Mustang in a hour (3.7), takes almost that long to check the gap in my trucks plugs before I start

I'm not sure you understood my question. Amazon.com is now a marketplace with many stores. So, always check for any product you are looking at....is it Amazon the store, or some ******* drop shipping stuff from Russia? Trust Amazon a bit, but zero trust for the others. Anything could be wrong, pics, words, many are selling fake Motorcraft plugs in boxes that look real.

"Ships from and Sold by Amazon", and it also says the Motorcraft SP-520 does not fit my 2013 Ford F-150 XLT 3.7L V6 Flex.

Glad this forum was able to clarify for me
