Reviews on your stereo nonnavigation.
So
As some of u may have read I'm looking into purchasing a new fx2 or fx4 and I really like a good sounding stereo even if I have to upgrade afterwords. So just looking to hear your guys reviews and if you have had any experience upgrading speakers and amps and how easy it is...also if you loose steering wheel controls.

I have a 2011 fx4 that got new hu,speakers, and amp. Was able to keep the steering wheel controls.I had someone put it in for me.I found this site (http://www.diymobileaudio.com/) great for research. I'm very happy with my system.

The stock system in my XLT Screw is really lousy, particularly the speakers. Easily the worst I've heard in a decade. I think the FX2/4 system is the same except for the 6CD changer in place of the single.
On the weekend I installed a JBL MS-8 processorr, new speakers along with an additional amplifier and some undersized subwoofers I had laying around from my old truck. Fed from the stock head unit it is an enormous improvement even in its incomplete state. It is nice to keep the SYNC and steering wheel functions along with the stock appearance, IMO.
Once I get proper subwoofers and tune it up I think I will be very pleased. I'll take some pics and such when I'm done so I can show off my work.
Just a thought regarding what can be done. The large stock stereo ***** and buttons are nice to use, especially if you're wearing gloves in the winter.
