Traction Control / Stability Control (OFF)
I just got my dream truck about three weeks ago. 2010 FX4 F-150. I was told if I push the traction control button in and hold it for 5 seconds the traction control and stability control would deactivate, but my truck still seems to have the stability control activated. Is there anything else I can do to deactivate them both?
Thanks Yall

The owner's manual explains it very well (lot better than relying on what someone has told you):

I have been driving my truck in the snow all winter without any traction problems. I let the computer control wheel spin and its worked great. Friday I pulled into a unplowed parking lot with about 6-8" of snow on it to test what the manual says. In 2 wheel drive I tried to spin the wheels and it wouldnt do it. I pushed the button once and I could spin the wheels but I couldnt slide sideways or do donuts. I pushed the button until the icon lit up on the dash and I could fling snow 20 feet and do donuts. I put it in 4 wheel drive and I was flinging snow with all four wheels. I felt like I was 16 again. It worked just like the manual says.

Same here. I think the system works fine and I have no problem turning it off.

You could do a permanent override like OutlawFord just did...

Thanks
Ok that explains it, so over 35 there is no way to deactivate SC. It did disable everything under 35, so it works like it says. That means no Dukes of Hazzard style driving down gravel roads at 55 mph. Still an awesome truck. I still love it.
Thanks yall for the replys
