Long bars are a great improvement. They really settled my truck down.

I have owned 2 sets of the ProComps on the 2 lifted 2003 F-150s I have owned. Broke the axle bracket clean in half! Why? Because the axle was allowed to rotate enough and the force of the rotation over powered the strength of the bracket.

The ProComps locate the bar at the FRONT of the rear axle, it also uses bushing. Due to the bar being located parallel with the axle they still allow for some axle rotation, the bushing also give and that allows for additional axle rotation. Yes they help, but not at much as the Stifflers or any other bar that mounts at the BOTTOM will. Its very hard to put into words without showing you a simple drawing but because its on the FRONT of the bar the axle must rotate enough to start pulling on the bar. So the axle will rotate until it rotates enough to get to the point of pulling on the bar. Does that make things clear or just more confusing?

I have not owned a set of longbars like the Stiffler Bars that locate the bar at the BOTTOM but have installed many sets and have driving many vehicles with bars installed like this. Trucks ranging from F250 with 16"s of lift to 600HP F-150s that are lowered 6"s. There is a huge difference.

With the bars located at the BOTTOM of the axle its able to stop the rotation before it even starts. Reason for this is that the if the axle wanted to rotate the bar is put into a compression and stops it from even starting. And also being as it has helm joints on them not only are they adjustable(preload and ride height) there isn't anything to give to allow rotation. Think of it like a 4 link set up, the bars are if looking from the drivers side of the truck the bars are located at the 12 and 6 O'Clock position. The ProComps locates them at the 9 O'clock position, you don't see 4link set ups like that do you?

My main concern when I started this tread was with them being installed on a daily driver and bending of the bar when using the truck as a truck(flexing the suspension) But after speaking with Brian many times, us taking measurements (from my truck and trucks he uses for fit testing), and doing the math, the amount of binding that "could" occur even at full compression or extension showed to be very minimal. The bushings on the spring itself would absorb!

I hope this explains things a little better, I would hate for you to spend money on the ProComps and them not provide what your looking for.

To be honest the only reason I am going with procomp is aesthetic value, I have no plans of burning the rubber from my tires or breaking the sound barrier, LOL

Personally I would put Caltracs on it over the ProComps!

Not much aesthetic value in those things. My truck is a pavement princess.

At this point in time I'm leaning towards these. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits...t_pn=EXP72500B

Heard back from Bryan

I asked him if he was still planning on making bars for is. He replied.

Yes Wayne they are, if all goes well should have install pic of final part in about a week. Have had a lot of changes going on which have put most development on hold for a while, finally getting back to it now.
