Default 2009 F150 Tires

Hey everyone,

I need some advice.

I have been looking at getting some new tires on my truck for a while. I have been saving up for the last 6 months. I went to look at tires and was going to get rims as well and the price was 3100.

I am just looking at tires and my 18" factory rims now.

I was quoted $1480 for TOYO tires 325/65R/18, this included new tire sensors and mounting/balancing. They test fit the tire this last weekend and it only rubs a little when you turn hard either way, but clears all the other way.

I also was quoted $1600 for BFG 305/65R/18, this included new tire sensors and mounting/balancing. I was only looking at these because of the raised white lettering as I thought it would look pretty cool.

Does anyone know which tires would last longer? The BFG's or the TOYO's?

I wanted tires similar to the raptor, and looked at them today. They are 315/70P/17 AT, so the rims are different too....So the TOYO looks pretty cool and it does stick out about an inch. Plus it looks a lot more bold than the raptor.

I was thinking about doin a box lift, just not sure when that will happen. I am also going to get some bushwacker bolt on flares 1.5"

Need some thoughts from the group. Also does anyone know of any other places in the Detroit area for tires?

My prices were quoted at Harlow. I also checked out Belle Tire and they were much worse, plus they were very rude in the store.

Thanks again.

if you are just putting new tires on your factory rims you DO NOT need new sensors... keep what you have and properly inflate

check out discounttiredirect.com

your best bet is going to be getting tires from tirerack or discount tire and then taking them to a local shop for mounting and balancing. you DO NOT need tire sensors if you are replacing the tires only...

www.discounttiredirect.com x3 then $20 to mount and balance at any discount tire store.

Personally, i think the 325's are a little too big, 305's are just right. But then you gotta find the tire you want. Toyo's are pretty good. LOTS of mixed reviews on the BFG's some swear by them, some swear at them... I've got Nitto Terra Grapplers 295's and they are SWEET... awesome looks, minor minor noise, great wear so far...8k and counting. Price was fair...$980 i think?

Look into Firestone destination A/ts or M/ts ....They use them on the f 250s & powerstrokes over here in Pa to get through all the gas well roads they are building, meaning major mud & deep snow! Hope this helps , Harry

Im pretty sure the width on the factory wheels is 7.5 inches, 325s are 12.8 inches wide which seems to wide to be safe on that size wheel. I even contacted a local tire place and they said it is not safe to put 325s on the stock rim being that it is only 7.5 inches wide. However if I am wrong about the wheel's width please let me know because I also wanted to put 325/65/18 Cooper STT's on my truck.

I'm running the 35x12.50 20 toyo mt's and love them.
I have a 09 fx4 and they look awesome. I just had to
trim just a little on the lower valance on both sides.

I have gone to another dealer and they said the 325's would be fine on my truck. I am not sure how big the rims are though. But they come with the XLT chrome package.

I do know the one dealer ordered in a tire to test fit it on my truck. They fit and they cleared everything except when you turned hard one way or the other.

They also stated that I didn't need sensors as well.

I had mentioned I wanted to put a lift kit at least on the front (maybe just a leveling kit) and I can't remember if it was them or someone else. They said it would void my warranty on the truck, does anyone know if this is true or not?

I was quoted 1500 for BFG's 325/65/18 and that was using my stock rims and no sensors. So more than the first quote (which was 305/65/18 bfg's) but this one is a bigger tire.

lift or level DOES NOT void your warranty
