I haven't forgotten about this. I actually got the lights installed and connected and they look awesome. Just have to wire in my "harness" that will allow for use of the lights as turn signals and running lights but haven't had the time. Will hopefully do that tomorrow. Also haven't had any internet at the house lately so I'll try to upload all the pics down at our other office.

Alright, here we go. Got the last of my wiring done tonight and finally got the pics uploaded.

Hooked my "harness" to the running light power that was run into the door and tapped into the turn signal power going to the mirror.

This photo is pretty dark but it shows where I drilled through the aluminum backing on the mirror. When you take the mirror off, it will be behind the foam.

Here's a video showing the signals and dimmer running lights.

Here's the diagram I used to make my "harness".

And here's a better diagram of what it looks like since I made a smaller one for each door.

Let me know of any questions you guys have, really love this mod

Finally! haha <joke>

I love the look of the lights as turn indicators. Very, very pimp, top notch!

Can you show a pic of exactly where you mounted the lights on the mirrors?

Is there any chance you can do a short write up on the steps/what to do? I know, I'm a selfish and greedy F150 owner.....pleased to meet you!

Haha I've been waiting awhile too

Thank you! I mounted them vertically as far out as I could midway between the 2 telescoping arms.

I can do a write-up, I'll just make it a separate post. Are you wanting the whole process, the harness or hooking everything up?

And I always seem to forget to take pictures of the process

Since it's such a kick-*** mod, and there are a few very different steps (drilling, access, wiring, mounting, etc.) it would be the coolest to help out peeps that want to do it. I imagine quite a few will since it's very functional/looks good, is a definite upgrade, increases safety, costs little, and is very do-able, provided a few things are mapped out.

I think it's important.

I may just make a how to thread so that it's more clear and put a link to it here. That way it's easy to follow.

Nice job XLT. Good choice on positioning of the lights.
