Tow Mirror Running Lights

I just took my caps off to PTM and let me tell ya they were a PITA!!!!! Also ended up cracking the glass on the passenger side trying to clip the glass back into place. Be careful when putting them back together and taking them apart.

When putting the glass back on, I think it's pretty important to line up the 4 clips all at once, then start pushing to engage one clip at a time. Any twisting I think can break the clip....definitely not designed for any side-to-side movement. When you press on the glass don't just press over the clip with your thumb...you want to distribute the pressure over a larger area.

It seems odd to me there are no lights.
I'm curious to see if the led lights you chose have any 'side view' illumination. I would like to mount on the side of the mirror assembly.

That is one problem with the LEDs that they mostly shoot straight forward. Guess I'll find out soon enough but I think it'll be slightly visible, just not like from the front.

Hmmm....bummer. I like the LED idea because of the low-power-draw aspect for lights, but would really like to have more visibility from various angles like from a filament bulb light. I'm not sure how much power can be had from the existing wiring. I was hoping to just tap in to existing rather than wiring back to relays, but maybe that's what is needed anyhow. I haven't checked to see how the wiring is, so I don't know if that's even an issue.

The problem is that corner and it's lack of a flat surface. I'm gonna put mine as far out as I can but we'll see how it goes.
