I'll be home Tuesday and will be doing this mod as soon as I can. The only problem I have left is where to put the lights. The three options:

Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

I have always assumed the lights would go on as you show in pic #2. But I'm wondering if the wiring (and misc.) will fit better if the light is in the low position as in pic #3.

That was my thought as well. I think I'll decide once I get the mirror opened up and find out if there is enough room. I think either way will look better than the first one though.

I took the top black textured skull caps off to replace with chrome. There are going to be some positioning issues to address that will somewhat dictate the placement of the lights. Be open to a couple different possibilities.

Uh oh... Care to elaborate? Is it the arms that get in the way?

How hard was it to get the mirrors apart? Seems a bit more complicated than the stock mirrors. Sorry for all the questions.

It can be done easily, but you need to make sure actions/movements.

The mirrors have a disc glued to the back of the mirror glass. The disc has 4 connecting points to a 'receiver' disc in the mirror assembly. Approximately at the 10, 2, 4 and 8 O'clock positions. 3 of the 4 positions have a clip, one of the 2 lower positions is just a 'guide' clip. You will need to move the mirror to expose each of the clips. Get a long, thin screwdriver with a narrow blade. Each clip will have 2 outside legs and one middle 'connecting' leg that you will get behind with the narrow blade screwdriver and twist to pop the clip. Once you begin to release the clips, keep your hand near the mirror, it can fall off by itself if all the clips are not engaged and fall to the ground.

After I did the first mirror, the second one was a breeze. I was NOT in the mood to break/damage anything, so I was very careful.

A bright light/direct sun can help. If you are looking and what I'm describing doesn't seem right, move the mirror to view the other clips. Dust/dirt can cover up the 2 outside legs and middle part of the clip.

Thank you sir! Seems just like the standard mirrors but these seem a bit harder to get the screwdriver in because of the shape of the glass (square as opposed to rectangle). I'll let you guys know how it all goes, ready to get it done.

Move the mirror around and get to the clips that are easier to see/reach first. One or two are very difficult, so do the roomier ones first then the mirror will have some play to reach the others.

It's just like the standard mirrors.

Will do, thanks. I broke half the clips on my stock driver side mirror so I hope this one goes better...

When I twisted the screwdriver to release the clips, I didn't try to 'turn to release', I sort of partially turned the screwdriver, then a little wiggle...I was trying to unclip as soft, gentle and easy as possible. If one does not seem to be releasing, do a different clip. Some popped easier than others. Even if you have to go to the other mirror. It's so not worth it once stuff starts getting damaged I noted that once 2 clips were released, the mirror popped off the other clip by itself.
