Default Torque management education please.

Ive searched and didnt find answers to how the torque management works on the 5.0. I know our trucks are drive by wire. What i have gathered is that pedal to the floor doesnt mean WOT in every case. Kinda like our trucks computer gets to decide what we can have in certain situations. Does anybody know what imputs it uses to make its decision?
I understand that ford has to do this for warranty sake. Guess my complaint is the lack of throttle response at low speed. I know the 5.0 wants to wind up to make power, but even with 3.73s and stock tires there are times i get down on it and it doesnt feel as strong as it should.
One last question, do custom tuners such as 5star address this? Thanks guys and sorry bout the long post.

GREAT question. Funny how at times my 5.0 feels like a rocket and others like it has more throttle delay than usual.

Yes 5 star will disable the torque manager. Go to their site and read about what the torque manager does. It sucks.

5star tune in my 2011 5.0 made a world of difference. Like driving a different truck.

My 5.0 won't even chirp the tires from a stand still and the advance track off when I mash it. That won't last for long tho....

That's crazy how different they are from truck to truck. Mine is an ext cab 4x4 with 3.55 and it'll turn then over pretty good from a stand still and I even get a little wheel spin in low speed down shift from 3-1. It's an undercover rocket ship!

However..... I have noticed the same as everyone else.... Sometimes the power is there and sometimes it's on lunch break. I just wish there was a tuner that was warrantee friendly.

I have a screw with 3.73's. I was a little shocked it wouldn't. I only have 1000 miles and the tires are new so maybe to grippy? I'll have a roush blower next week tho so I'll make me squeal then. I just hope I don't have a factory dud low on power.

Nice!! I'm jealous! You'll have to post some pics and video of it after. I'm sure you'll have no problem with over 500 HP at your disposal.

Yeah, I've heard of people complaining about the traction of these tires new, but mine are pretty grippy as well.
