Torque Curve on New 5.0!

Torque Curve on New 5.0!
Does anyone have any info on the torque curve of the new 5.0? I know the 5.0 has a higher torque rating than the current 5.4, but I was curious if the 5.0 reaches a decent amount of torque at a low RPM, or do you have to basically red line it?

My guess they will hold speed while pulling about the same.
The 3.5 ecoboost is nuts. Its is only 14ft/tq less than the 6.2L but peeks at only 2500 rpm and supposed to be very flat.

It looks like Ford had a torque curve for each of the new engines at the RoundUp events - I can't find this info on their website though.
Anyone else have any better info on the 5.0?

Now you see the problem. It's not going to be a very good truck engine for towing. To get any power you are going to have to be revving it up.
Sure it's got more hp and torque than the 5.4 but it doesn't kick in down low.
I think Ford should have just left the 5.0 in the Mustang and stuck with the 3.7, ecoboost and 6.2 but they knew that some of the old V-8 dinosaurs wouldn't buy if they couldn't have a V8 so they modified it slightly and stuck it in the truck
btw, nothing wrong with the engine, it will do the job just fine. I just don't know if I want a v-8 that has to run high rpms all of the time. that was supposed to be the advantage of a v8, lower rpms and therefore it would last longer. not that way anymore.

I agree and am thinking about getting a 2010 Fx4 for $33015 OTD (MSRP is 41,930). Is that a good price?
Also, on the last video did you all see the drag times for the various engines? It looked like the 5.0, the ecoboost, and the 5.4 had times in the low 5 seconds.
I don't understand why a lot of people slam the 5.4 and call it a dog when it appears that its just as adequate as these newer engines (in fact, in one video (see below) a 5.4 beats on the drag strip the ecoboost (although the winning driver had better reaction time)).

this makes me happy I went ahead and got the 2010 fx4, instead of waiting. Is the 5.0 the only option in the 2011 fx4? I would think the ecoboost will be there before long, if its as good as they make it out to be

I'd bet the 5.4 will be every bit as good as the 5.4 and will get better mileage to boot. more power, more torque. I'm not afraid of a high revving engine, then again, nissan's VQ series of engines loves to rev (the 4.0 is a stroked version of the 3.5 thats in the 350z). and I'd line up with the 5.4 any day of the week.
