Default Tool Storage Ideas

Hey guys, Ive done some searching but haven't found exactly what I want so I figured I'd put this out there to see what I get. I want to find a good solution for my tools.

I have a tool bag filled with all my hand tools 30" long, 20" tall, 12" wide
Drill/Driver kit, misc fitting bin, and socket set right now I can fit everything under the read seats except I put my tool bag infront of the rear seats and behind the front passenger seat. It works, but looks sloppy and I loose 1 seat.

I've considered the standard tool box that goes bedside to bedside. And if I don't find something better that's what I may have to go with. I don't really want to loose the 12-16" of my bed because then I can't haul 2 dirtbikes with the tailgate up. Its nice to have the tailgate up when going to the track so that all your gear and extra parts don't disappear...

Specifically, I'm curious what people have to say about the wheelwell boxes and the top bedrail boxes. Anyone have any other creative ideas that works for them?

While not necessarily what you are looking for, I have one of these in the bed of my truck with all my tie downs and tools. Easy enough to take out at any time. Can even easily fit in the cab.

Yea a friend of mine has something similar. He put some rubber underneath so it doesn't slide around. He just moves it around to make the space he needs if he needs space. Definitely an option. I kinda want something permanent though.

Pork Chop Boxes, had some aluminum ones on my F250;

I made some steel brackets to support the boxes without drilling into the bed.

Fair enough. They're only 20 bucks at walmart though which is nice.

Pork chop box, it's everything you want. I didn't want to loose bed space either and got rid of my cross over for this. Many sizes and options still can hold full sheets of plywood and keep everything out of the cab. Don't have any pictures of it installed but you get the idea.

There is lots of room in one of those? Seems tight...
Can you get a drill driver and sawsall case in there?

My first advice is to break your bag up. Get three smaller bags that will hold it all and start organizing. You could put all this stuff under your back seat if you wanted.

If I was in your shoes, I would get a bed rail box or one of those swing case boxes. I like the pork chop boxes too, but when you put those in, you don't always still have enough room for sheet goods in the bed.

I've had every kind of toolbox. Across the bed, bed rail, behind the wheel well, pork chop, etc. I had storage boxes under the back seat of my last two trucks. But with the flat rear floor of my crew cab '14, I don't store stuff under there anymore. I would like to fix it to where I can fold down the back seat easier (I can fold it down now, just takes a little bit).

Right now I have a cross box and a bed rail box down each side. All are full. Constantly seeking more storage solutions that don't sacrifice bed space.
