Yep happens to mine as well, I found smearing some Vaseline on the rubber prevents the freezing.

Yeah, same issue with the Rollbak I bought - that and in milder winters like I am now in BC, where the snow is wetter, melts, then some freezing, the canister fills with ice and you can't open it at all. Plus the QA is poor....

See mine in this thread:

Oh - and even more has peeled now.

I went with the BakFlip VP for the low profile look. Had it a year and it's been great...tri-fold and the panels do fold up against the window but no problem so far. Pretty good at keeping things dry on long trips with luggage in the bed.

Suits my needs!

Only a year but the vinyl has held up well.

Just got my Undercover Flex yesterday and love it, have not had it long enough to have any complaints and hope not to.

Only decent pic I have, but I have the Ford branded bakflip and love it so far. I installed bull ring tie downs (5.5' bed) and put my son's bikes on top for our last camping trip. I've never had an issue with water in the bed and it's had a few inches of snow on it before. bakflip is cheaper than Ford brand though, lol. Best purchase for the truck yet.

Hey bud, I'm research the same purchase right now for the same truck.
2014 FX4 6.5 box.

I've got it narrowed down to the backflip and the below package.

Locking bed cover $1500

http://lazerlitecovers.com/home/details/

Pioneer Platform $699

http://www.columbiaoverland.com/rhino-rack-pioneer-plaform/pioneer-platform-2128mm-x-1236mm

Roof Mount Bike Rack $219 each

http://www.rhinorack.com/en-us/products/bike-carriers/roof/discovery-bike-carrier-left-_rbc017

LazerLite can paint cover Satin BLK to match colour code.

Lazerlite will also install and mount platform and then it has full warranty.

Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers,
