Default Tonneau Covers

I first want to start with - THE SEARCH IN HERE SUCKS!

I did a search and it comes up with hundreds of posts that I just don't have the time to sift through to find the information I'm looking for.

So... with that said...

Just purchased a 2014 FX4 with the 6 1/2 foot bed.

I traded a 2011 FX2 with the same size bed. That had a Trifold cover that would leak at the seams. LOVED the cover except for that. Looked good and was easy to take off when I needed the height in the bed for a 4 wheeler. Traded it with the truck cause I wanted something different.

This time, I need something that doesn't leak, is easy to take off and can secure my items in the HUGE TRUNK. Oh yeah, budget IS a factor (just bought the truck)

Looking at the Bakflip G2, Roll-N-Lock and others - upon recommendations and thoughts.

Thanks in advance for any information or useful links you can provide.

I have the one from ford, it's basically a bakflip rebadged. I spoke to the owner from bak industries and he confirmed its a model made for ford. It's closest to the bakflip hd

I just purchased a 2012 s/c with 6.5 bed and it had the bak flip f1 installed. I've done several trips in lots of snow and the box is stayed completely dry and clean I'd snow dust. very happy so far. I have a buddy who has the same cover on a Ford and has had same results.

What about the Roll-X? More rigid than a vinyl cover and less expensive than a roll n lock style. Rolls up for wheeler loading. Except for around the tailgate step mine keeps water out.

See the Peragon. Folds down in the bed instead of folding to block the rear view.

I just got an Undercover Flex after debating it vs the bakflip Fibermax.

They newest design is almost identical to the bakflip with a few improvements and is a bit cheaper.

True or not, the dealer (who had both) said that the final improvement (removal of the red release handle on the last section) had been covered by a bak patent and that the same holding company bought them out and that allowed the Undercover Flex to make that final change.

The search function isn't the greatest but if you go to Advanced Search it brings up more relevant results. You can search thread content or titles only and choose whether to display by thread or by post.

Did you find one you liked? I too am having a tough time but think I've set my mind up on the Truxedo Lo Pro Qt. I had one years ago and loved it. On the other hand I am considering other options still. Good luck with your search.

And congrats on your new truck. Love the 5.0!

All of those mentioned are good choices. I settled on the Undercover Flex and have been pleased with it. The only problem is on a wet, icy morning a line of moisture freezes at the back edge and won't let the tailgate open. That may be true with all of them. there are some good comparison videos on YouTube.
