I originally started this project because Saoundman quoted me about 1200$ for this project.. i understand why, it takes alot of work. If i can get some people interested id send them the dash kit painted and ready to install, as well as step by step installation pics.. for maybe 600$?

Idk anyone else that will put 12+ hours into something for less! the good thing about the ipad is that it will work with syncs voice recognition, and steering wheel controls. so its pretty much as intergrated as its going to get. Check the price on the new kenwood double dins with maestro (sync intergration) and then think if its really that outraegeous.. the ipad is a superior headunit in every sense

Yeah i have the same concern, thats why mines in the works of being removable. Soundman makes a side slider model, but i dont like it because its built ONTO the dash instead of INTO the dasg.. i always thought it looks cheesy, but it is the best functionality. Mine slides in from the top, not the side so you still have that built in look... and i think it looks alot less like an ipad when all u see is a black screen and no slide mount
