Default 2012 5.0 F150 P0012 P0014 codes

Sorry for the long post. Here we go, my truck has been spitting out 0012 and 0014 codes for a little while now. I started by changing cam position sensors on bank 1, drove fine for a bit then started doing it again. Then started bogging down and ratcheting. Changed the Vct solenoids with no luck. Ended up doing a full timing job. All oem parts. Threw codes again. It’s driving better, but I can still feel it bogging down. I’m so lost at this point. Not sure what else it could be. Also replaced the oil pump and pickup tube while the cover was off. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Did you verify the signals are getting through the VCT wires properly?

So I haven’t rang any wiring out yet. Now that you say that I prob should have done that first. Would I only need to check for continuity or voltage?

I would think you do both at the same time. If you are checking voltage, that really covers continuity. It could be damaged wires, or the PCM failing.

Here's the list of potential issues from the manual:
  • Camshaft timing incorrectly set
  • Continuous oil flow to the VCT piston chamber
  • Erratic camshaft position due to low oil pressure
  • Oil flow restriction in the oil passages or the VCT valve body
  • VCT solenoid valve stuck open
  • VCT circuit open or short
  • VPWR circuit open
  • Camshaft advance mechanism binding (VCT unit)
  • Damaged VCT phaser
  • Damaged camshaft position (CMP) sensor
  • CMP sensor circuits open or short
  • Radio frequency interference

Ok. I’ll definitely check that out. I might as well ring the wires out while I’m changing the sensors. I would have to rule out faulty solenoids since those were replaced, I was wondering about the pcm, only other thing I could think of was possibly the timing wasn’t set quite right. It’s def better since I got it back from the shop, but still not quite right.
