Tire and Wheel Fitment Guide - 2009 and newer
#4962
Here is my 2014 ecoboost. Just installed a 2inch hell bent steel level kit and 295/70r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock wheels which are 34.3x11.6 inch tires. Absolutely no rubbing at all. Was nervous but after reading a lot on here, thought I would give it a shot. Was worried it would mess with my warranty but Ford dealer said as long as I don't mess with the suspension, I'm fine. I absolutely love the look of my truck now. Still rides very very similar to stock too. Almost no tire noise below 55

Thanks!
Regarding wheels... Yes, backspace is 4.75".
On the tire size, the actual specifications from Toyo are, 33.3" diameter, and 11.8" overall width.
Some tires like the Toyo MT's run bigger... or smaller in some other brands/product lines. For instance, the Toyo MT 295/70/R17 is actually, 33.5" diameter and 11.9" wide.
If you are looking for a 34" tire for a 17" wheel, you might look at the Toyo MT 315/70R17, which measures 34.6" diameter and 12.7" wide.
In the Toyo RT line, the 35x12.5R17 measures 34.8" diameter and 12.5" wide. My friend put these on his truck a few days before I got mine. Honestly, side by side, there is not a whole lot a difference on height, but they are noticeably wider.
I would also look at Nitto Ridge grappler. I almost bought this tire for my truck. The 305/70R17 measures 33.86" diameter, and 12.24" wide. This is pretty close to what you want. Only reason I didn't go with this tire is because they weren't available locally and I did not want to wait... plus, I really like the RT.

2009 FX4 No Level
Hello, I just recently bought my 09' FX4 Off Road , a huge upgrade from my 99' ranger. I am putting tires on it very soon before winter hits and I am looking to go slightly bigger than the 275/65R18 coopers that are on there now. I am thinking that I want to go to LT275/70R18 BFG KO2's staying with the stock wheels. My question is will that size fit without having to lift/level the truck. Also, if the size does work would there be any issues with changing the tire diameter whether it be drive-train related or an issue with the speedometer/odometer. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

I just updated my truck. Here is a 2014 STX 4x4 Supercrew with Fox 2.0 front coilovers set at 2" level, plus rear Fox 2.0 shocks (stock height). I have Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/70/18 tires on 18x9 Black Rhino Mint +12 offset wheels. 3.55 gears; 5.0L V8 with the SCT x4 tuner and Stage 3 Motorsports' 5* 87 performance/tow tune. I had some slight rubbing when backing up and fully turned on a slope, front end high...contact with the valance. Trimmed the valance a bit and problem solved.) I'll go to a N-fab nerf step on this and remove the stock step bar next.
Note the closeup pic of the tire is before the Fox rear shocks were mounted. The pics of the full truck are post-Fox 2.0 mounting.
The truck rides great so far. E-load tires are what they are on a 1/2 ton truck...it won't ever be a stock smooth ride, but it is a 4x4 pickup afterall. I am running 45lbs air all around. If I tow a small travel trailer...will kick the back up to 50lbs.

Wheel size change for 2013 STX 4x4 w/towing package?
I bought the truck brand new in 09-13, and in a big hurry. I didn't realize that the 4x4's with the trailer towing package came with 18 inch wheels instead of 17 or 20 inch wheels.
Tire options for 18 inch wheels are very limited (especially when needing a good off road tire with decent pavement behavior such as BFG KM2's or equivalent pro-comps.
Tire prices for 18 inch wheels are insane! I can get the same tire for a 20 inch wheel for an average of 40-50% less than the 18 inch wheel version!
I have contacted numerous Ford stealerships, custom wheel shops, national 4x4 customization chains, tire shops, and even Ford corporate asking if I can simply put 20 inch rims on this truck without encountering problems. The only responses I got was either "I don't know" or "We strongly recommend that you do not perform any modifications to your truck". I've also searched online forums (including this one) and have not seen any definitive answers.
Has anyone done this swap?
We need new tires as the pathetic street tires that came on our truck are nearing the end of their treadlife and I've noticed that if I buy new alloy 20 inch wheels and the appropriate tires the total cost will be very close to simply buying tires for the 18 inch wheels. This means next time we need tires they will cost less.

I just replaced my Toyo AT's that I put on right after buying my truck back in 2011. Replaced them with 33/12.50/18 Toyo RT's as I wanted an aggressive looking tire. Changed to Raceline Assault rims and leveled the truck with 2" Tuff Country kit. Love the look now and it brought the tires out to flush with fenders.
No rubbing or trimming required.
