How do tire manufacturers measure their tires? On Cooper's website, it says this size is about 32.5" tall and around 11.5" wide. When I measure them on the truck (on stock 18" wheels) they measure just under 32" tall and only 10" wide. What gives?
I would imagine that they are measuring in most cases, with the tire NOT installed, inflated on a standard rim. On your truck you will probably have at least a half inch of squish due to the weight.

As for the width, my Nitto's seem to be pretty accurate in real life compared to their advertisements. Perhaps on the width they include the bulge of the sidewall for Cooper? No really sure.

Default advice

I have a set of fuel octane 20x9 rims with 0 offset and 275/65r20 duratracs that I want to take off my 2013 f150 and put on a 2016 f150.

Will these fit without rubbing until bilstein releases the 5100 adjustable height shocks for the 2016 this fall?

Thanks for the help

I did measure the tires before they were installed and they measured about the same as installed. Still less than the website specs. The width could be with the sidewall bulge. Don't get me wrong, they look good and they are still larger than stock but I just don't know how they came up with those measurements.

I think they include bulge. Tire rack shows 3 different widths (rim, tread, overall), unfortunately they don't carry Cooper. But the overall (Sect. Width) seems to match to mfgr specs. KO2:

Update with Bilstein 5100's all around. Front set on the 2nd from the highest setting (1.5").

Maybe they measure the tire mold...don't know. Either way, the new treads look and drive good so I'm happy!

Just got my 35s on. Put icon stage 5 kit on, factory block out back and truck sits dead level. Wheels are 17x8.5 method NV's 0 offset. Lots of trimming was required and had to fold the pinch weld on the front edge of firewall as well as trim front valance.

I don't want to be a noob that asks questions in the wrong place, but I have a 2wd 2013 STX with stock rims and 265/65/17 tires that were on the truck when I bought it. I want to know if I can run these on the stock rims. They're 285/70/17

I know my speedo will be effected by it, but will they fit without a level? I am also looking at leveling it any way, but just wanted to see if anyone has done something similar. I've seen a few in regards to Fx4's, but they do stand a few inches taller in both the front and rear.

Has this information been compiling since 2010 and not been condensed to some kind of chart yet? I'm just asking in case I've missed it somewhere.
