What side steps are those?

Go for the KO2s... I just put on the same size, love it. Makes the truck look way better, not too aggressive but a big step up from the OEM Wranglers. No loss in power and small drop in MPGs.

Default Need to fill out bushwacker flares

Hey guys, new to the site. I just picked up a 2013 Fx4 crew long box, full load. The previous owner installed colour matched bushwacker pocket style flares, but never did anything with the wheels/tires, so the wheels are set in aprox 2" from the lip of the flare. It looks ridiculous to say the least.

After reading countless threads and researching the issue I finally have to admit that I can't figure out what I will need, although I have a possible game plan that I think "might" work.

Current wheel/tire combo are the base fx4 18x7.5" wheel with +44 offset. Tires are near new and are a Goodyear 275/65/18 (I don't recall model, but they are a reasonably aggressive all terrain) As mentioned, they are set in about 2".

Ideally I don't want to level the truck, but I'm not sure I can get around it. What I'm thinking "might" work is a 18x9 wheel with +15 offset wrapped in 285/65/18 tires (haven't decided on tire yet). From what I can tell, this will push the wheel out about 1.5 inches which would bring them out 1/2 an inch from being flush. Ideally I would like them nearly exactly in line with the fenders, but I know that would almost certainly require a level because I would need bigger offset or bigger rubber.

So what do you wheel gurus think? Could it work? Or is it worth spending a little money on level and slightly larger tires or bigger offset rim?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. BTW, I'm not keeping the truck for long, which is why I'm trying to do it on the cheap.

if you're trying to keep it cheap sounds like wheel spacers and if needed a strut spacer level kit would be your best bet. Don't need new wheels or tires (although you could fit 33's nicely without a level) but can still push them out 1-2"

Thanks for the input. I should have mentioned that I was planning to swap the existing tires and wheels onto my other truck. For the truck in question I was planning to buy new wheels and tires anyway...I don't like the stock wheels on this particular truck.

Pictures for reference to follow...

Looking at some new rims and tires for my 2WD 2010 and my knowledge of rims/tires is pretty limited. I'll be putting a 2" level kit before i get the wheels. Looking at some 18x9 rims with an offset of 12 and a backspacing of 5.47. Would this rim fit 285/65R18 tires? Also would a 12 offset make the tires stick out a lot? It doesn't bother me if it does a little. I just don't want them to stick out far.

Those wheels will stick out about an 1-1/2 inches more than stock. The 285x65x18's which are close to 33's will work fine on those wheels. As long as your 4x2 is leveled you should have no problems other then minor trimming if needed. I see you're "down da bayou" from me a little!

1-1/2" is right where I want them. My mind is just about made up. Thanks for the help! I'll be sure to honk at you if I see you cruising around!

They are factory style running boards.

I go down to Grand Isle pretty often but I take the 4 lane from Larose down. Hope you get the tires and the wheels on with no problems.
