i'm going to put a 2.5 inch bds level on a 2011 f150 xlt 4wd. Going to buy 285/65/r18 nitto trail grapplers. Buying kmc addict rims. Should I buy the 18 offset or the -12 offset to be sure the tires will fit? The 18 offset has 5.71 backspacing where the -12 has 4.53 backspacing. Also, which one would make the tires stick further out?

The -12 offset one will stick out 1.2" more than the +18. The more negative offset you have, the more risk you run in having the tires rub.

UCA clearance has to do with wheel offset, not lift amount. With the -12 offset, you'll be fine on UCA clearance.

Default Advice appreciated on tire size

Hi All, New to the forums, just bought a 2014 F150 Screw FX4 which had the 20 inch stock wheels.

After reading tons and searching sites wanted to get some feedback, I am going to keep the stock rims and wanted a little bigger / aggressive tire without rubbing / trimming. Here is what I was thinking

295x60x20 Nitto Trail Grappler
Bilstein 5100's front
not sure if I will need rear blocks or not?

Thoughts or suggestions?

For those still wondering, 295/60/20 Terra Grapps (34.45 x 12.36) added today after a lot of deliberating....and yes, had to trim front and back of fender well. These tires are BIG. Well worth the increase in size. Rims 20x9 +20. Rancho Quicklift. Previously had 275/65/20 Terra Grapps with no rub and no trim.

If it's 18x9 with -12 will make it stick out 2" further than stock and the +18 would make it stick out about 1" further than stock

I have 17x9 -12 on my truck page 361. The wide stance really makes a statement

You will just have to trim a good bit to run that size tire with that offset... I'm not sure off hand what offset you would need to clear your UCA's but I'm running a 0 oset with 305's and a leveling kit and had to trim the front plastic a little bit but have a ton of room by my UCA's
