What i have read along the way is the only thing you need to watch for is when you are going to install a mud terrain. An all terrain does not have big sidewall lugs like a mud terrain does so you might be rubbing. I think you might need a - offset to stick them out a bit. I got 2'' in the front and a 3'' block in the back and going with 305/55/20 Mikey thompson baja ATZ on stock rims. Eventually going with RBP 20'' rims with a -12 offset. If you got a speed shop near by go in and see them tell them what you want and im sure they will take care of the rest.

I am thinking about getting rid of the Trail Grapplers and going to a 305/55/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ or Wrangler Duratrac. I would also like to drop my Bilstein shocks down to the 1.5" setting. I am pretty sure this will clear alright. The wheels are 20x9 with +18 offset. Can anyone confirm that this will work if I drop the shocks down a notch? I would hate to pay to change the height of the shocks and then have it not work.

I am considering the same set up only with XD Hoss wheels and Trail Grapplers. Can I ask why you want to change tires?

Looking for something that rides better and lighter. The trail grapplers are quite heavy and I don't spend that much time off road to justify that increased weight pulling my fuel mileage down. I would also like to go to a 33" tire so I can drop my shocks down a notch to hopefully make it ride a bit better. The combination of the tires and the shocks maxed out make for a rougher ride than I like. I expect a stiffer ride but this combination over abrupt bumps in the road is rough enough to hear the doors rattle.

From what I understand these tires work perfectly in 4x4 models, and rub on the 4x2 models unless you have a lift. Speedo is off by around 4mph at 60mph, nothing you can't compensate for.

I just got these tires on tonight. No rubbing with stock wheels and no level, lock to lock.

Excuss my stupidity as this is the first truck I have owned. Why do 4WDs allow for bigger tire/wheel combos than 2WD. I keep seeing 4WD with 35s on leveling but on 33s on 2WD. What causes this? THanks and stupid question immunity.

4x4's are taller then 4x2's with more room to clear larger tires.

Hey guys need some help, my local off road shop tells me I cannot put 17 inch wheels on my truck. It is an 2009 F150 scab FX4. I am told it has the upgraded brake pakage, it has 18 inch wheels stock, they said any smaller wheel will not fit with the bigger brakes. Any thoughts? Thx.

Get 18" wheels?

Seriously, the only 17" I would use is take-offs from a Raptor. There might be a few 17" that will clear the brakes but it'd be an expensive guessing game.
