Tire decisions

I want a tire that met the required performance in snow testing and BFG TA KO does not in the size I need

I didn't miss your point one bit. You are the one trashing the Grabbers about the snow rating. I was simply pointing out they are a great tire and cost less than the BFGs. The fact that they are snow rated is that they put their tire up to higher testing. If BFG wants to do that they can but they chose not to. The Grabbers are also studdable if you so choose where the BFGs are not, last time I looked, giving you another option on them. I am not here to start a war of which tire is better I am simply pointing out the fact I think the Grabbers are a great option for the OP and was one he was specifically asking about. I was giving him a real world opinion just as you were with the BFG which I am sure you love and they suit your purposes fine. The difference is I do not need to try and sway an opinion by trashing another brand due to opinion.

If the BFG had the snow rating in my tire size I would probably own them. The reason BFG does not have the snow rating on my size is because the rubber compound gets to hard in the cold which equals poor grip. I live in the snowbelt of Cleveland and not risking your opinion based on the many who say different

I went with the Trails and after 6k miles I have no regrets! The only time mine are off the road is when I pull up on construction job sites... There's definitely some high speed road noise and mpg loss, but well worth it for the look!! Plus I have 2 12's in the back so I don't hear much 'from outside'.

When I bought my 2012 dealer had already leveled it and put Nitto trail grapplers on it. Made them swap to the bfg at KO 305/65/18 on stock rims during the negotiations. Had to ride around with the trail grapplers on for two days till they got my bfg's in man what a difference in noise. The bfg's are much quieter and have plenty of grip for my uses.

Buy them If you like to listen to tire noise (constant humming) and loose some MPGs. I have used Nitto Terra Grapplers before and they are quiet and might satisfy you need for a "bad ***" look.
