how has your mpg's been? I'm curious what a lower rolling resistance but still heavy tire does to mpg's.

Recently a little over 17 mpg. Life time is about 16.5.

Here are some updated photos, again I'm running a 2" HBS Level and 275/70R18 BFG Rugged Terrains. I'm in need of new tires soon and can't decide on what to go with. I'm debating staying with the 275s and doing wheels and tires or just bumping up to a 295/70R18 tire and doing wheels later.

Unfortunately I have to justify whatever I do, I've got twin boys on the way, due in March. Technically all extra money is supposed to go toward the babies, according to my wife.

with what you said, just to keep wifey happy, I would just do tires. wheels are a want, but surely not a need.

Not much at all, these 5.0s aren't as picky as the EcoBoosts when it comes to putting on slightly bigger tires. It did drop some but not enough to make me unhappy. Lowest I've seen in 16.0 mpg into a headwind.

Speedometer says 75mph, GPS says 76mph.
hi.. was looking to change my stock 275-65-18's Wrangler AT/S to 265-70-18's BFG rugged terrains... I am interested in your thoughts on it.

any particular reason you want THAT specific size? it's less than an inch taller and once mounted will likely be almost exactly the same height as the stock size, but it's 10mm narrower (basically about a 1/2")
It's all personal preference but there just doesn't seem to be anything to gain by going to such an odd size.

BFG Rugged Terrain's will slip on top of wet grass after some wear, note how short of depth the wear indicators bars are (mine were P275/70R18).

I currently have P265/70R18 (Cooper Discoverer AT) as I wanted a little taller but not wider. (This tire was about 2lbs heavier per tire over the P275/65R18 BFG rugged terrains)
I would like to go a little more taller (due to having clearance to) but these tires are the tallest I found in a P-rated tire. The same size & brand tire in a LT-rated tire was about 8-10lbs heavier per tire from my research.

.

Anyone on 275/70 with an 18x10 ?

Running 265/70 now and they look too "stretched", I'd like to go with a 285/70 but I really like the falken wildpeak at3 and they don't offer that size ...up in the air over here
